Jazz, Pakistan's first 4G operator, and a major Internet and broadband service provider have released the first Pakistani 800G connectivity technology to its network, which expands existing user experience for data services. Currently, the 800G Transport Lambda holds live customer traffic throughout the city of Karachi and plans are underway for further expansion.
With a core network capacity of 3.7 Tbps, 800G Transport Lambda will benefit customers by increasing the data carrying capacity leading to an improved user experience for data services. In one second, customers will be able to stream 360,000 HD videos as opposed to 180,000 on the 400G network and download 140,000 songs compared to 70,000 simultaneously, among other features. The 800G doubles the capacity of a standard 100G technology network and can support up to 1 million 4K simultaneous users.
Khalid Shehzad, Chief Technology Officer, of Jazz said,
“There is an increase in applications with high bandwidth, and in order to meet the growing data needs of our subscribers we have upgraded our systems using the country's first 800G Transport Lambda. Our priority remains to ensure quality customer information. ”
800G Transport Lambda also reaffirms Jazz's commitment to bringing the latest and leading technology to its customers. For the first time in the industry, Jazz re-introduced Massive MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) technology last year, improved network capabilities, benefited customers with network growth and higher data speed and better user experience.
